Why The Naked Turtle Studio?

The name came to me about four years ago;
A friend of mine had a female acquaintance that used to make homemade jewelry. One day I received an email out of the blue from this woman asking me if I could design a logo for her business. She was looking for something with a pond and a turtle and for the life of me, I couldn’t draw a turtle (at least one to my liking) so as a joke I told her look I’m good at drawing naked things why not change the name of your jewelry business to The Naked Turtle Jewelry shop. Well she didn’t really like that idea, but the name stuck in my mind, I really liked it.

Now some people might call what happened next just an accident, I like to think of it as synchronicity. That event took place about that same time that I learned of a studio that was going to be available to rent at the Indian Orchard Mills. I started to get the feeling that this was the opportunity to realize a childhood dream that I lost so many years ago, to become an artist and have my own studio. Not only did I now have the oppurtunity to have my own studio, but I had a the name for it as well.

(A side note, I never did design a logo for her.)
